Happy Birthday Janet!

I am so lucky to work with some fabulous people.  Janet happens to be one of them.  For her birthday I made her a vanilla cake with a raspberry and lemon buttercream filling.  Her favorite color is green, so the cake was topped with green polka-dots and a white gumpaste bow.

Chicken Cupcakes

A very nice woman who works with my husband gives us fresh eggs from her chickens.  My daughter calls her our "Chicken Lady".  So to thank her for the delicious eggs, I made her some chicken cupcakes.  They are vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting with a hint of lemon.

I've always loved baking and cooking.  Once I became a mom I decided I wanted to take cake classes so that whatever my kids came up with for a birthday party theme, I'd be able to accept the challenge and make them an amazing cake. Here is my latest creation for my daughter's 3rd birthday.  It was a Wizard of Oz Extravaganza for my little Dorothy!  After a lot of research and combing the web looking for ideas and inspiration...this is what I came up with.
